My daughter and I headed to my brother's house yesterday afternoon, about a two hour drive. We were cruising along when the RPM's shot up in my van. I quick turned off the cruise control, put on my signal light and headed for the side of the road. As I did this the battery light came on, the power steering left - My poor van was dead on the side of the road.
I called my hubby, who was at work about an hour away to come rescue us. So there we sat in 90+ degree weather on the side of the highway. Luckily for us quite a few really nice tractor-trailer drivers moved into the left lane when they saw the hazard lights on the van. With them in the other lane we didn't get rocked around too much.
Unfortunately I don't know what is wrong with the van and it is trapped at the mechanic's until next week. So much for my quiet weekend babysitting my brother's kitties!
Thanks to all those drivers that saw us on the side of the road and chose to move over a bit so we didn't get hit!
